92 Beaucanon Estate 2001 Trifecta Bordeaux Blend (Napa Valley); $28
The proprietary name refers to the three major Bordeaux varieties in the blend.
Cab Sauvignon gives rich color and a pronounced cassis scent. Merlot adds
softness, while a dash of Cab Franc brings red cherries and silk. A rich,
dramatically layered wine that's still young and fresh, and has the legs for
another decade, at least.
